| August 26, 2009 | | Vail Daily reports that Copper Mountain sales rumors are coming downhill fast | Will Richard Branson, the Virgin Atlantic billionaire, buy Copper Mountain? The Vail ski resort area has been seeing a large number of rumors surrounding the Copper Mountain ski resort. The resort, owned by Intrawest, has been the subject of rumors as the company tries to balance its debt and its holdings and possibly sell some of its properties.
Among other rumored potential buyers are Harry Mosgrove and Tony Novelli. Vail Daily reports on the activity at the Copper Mountain ski resort:
The Inserras, who live in the Bridge End condos, said they've seen
various processions of people wearing suits and ties traipse through
the resort in the past few months, speculating that those tours were
for potential buyers. Along with other Copper residents, they heard the
speculation that a sale was due to close by the end of August.
Intrawest, which is owned by Fortress Investment Group (a company that also had dealings with Michael Jackson), refused to comment on the rumors that Copper Mountain is for sale. It looks as though we will have to wait and see.
