Home Prices Continue Dropping

Case Shiller Index show home prices lower in Quarter 1
Home prices -- including ski resort homes -- continue to fall. The recent report from the S&P/Case Shiller National Home Price index shows that home prices declined 19.1% in the first quarter of 2009.

This pace of decline shows that now is a good time to buy a home. Indeed, home prices are falling, and there are plenty of good deals to be had from motivated sellers. And, even though ski resort markets have been among the last to feel the pinch, luxury home prices are now showing declines as well.

Even though the real estate market bottom may be coming, it is still a good time to buy a ski resort home. Home prices (and mortgage rates) are low enough that you don't have to be at rock bottom to get a good deal.
