Luxury Hotels Bring Glamour to Ski Resorts

Luxury ski resort real estate opening, even with the recession

Even though many ski communities have been hard hit by the recent recession and real estate market crash, it hasn't stopped luxury real estate developments. Indeed, many luxury hotels at ski resorts are moving forward, and opening in the midst of these tough times. The Street has some of the highlights of luxury hotels at ski resorts:

  • Aava Whistler Hotel: Opening just in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics at Whistler ski resort.
  • Front Four Private Residence Club: Offering high-end suites at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont.
  • Waldorf Astoria: Opening in time for Sundance next year, this luxury ski resort real estate will be at the base of The Canyons in Park City, Utah.
  • St. Regis Deer Crest: This luxury hotel is operated by Starwood Hotels & Resorts World Wide, and just opened at Deer Valley ski resort near Park City.
  • Viceroy Snowmass: The latest luxury hotel offering near Aspen, Colorado.
  • Ritz Carlton: Lake Tahoe saw the opening of a luxury Ritz Carlton hotel, the first new build ski resort in Lake Tahoe for decades.
