Viceroy Hotel Still Set to Open This Ski Season

This Aspen Lodge expected to open even with challenges
Several challenges have been facing the Base Village development in the Aspen ski resort area. One of the challenges has been the Viceroy hotel, which is set to open this ski season. One of the biggest challenges is the fact that the Viceroy is not connected to Base Village yet. But Aspen Daily reports on the measures being taken to alleviate that issue:

Because the Viceroy isn’t yet connected to the Base Village core, Related WestPac officials are putting in some temporary measures to aid with circulation, such as an additional bus stop, continuation of a sidewalk and shuttle service.

The credit crisis severely slowed progress on Base Village, and Little Nell Residences Snowmass and the arrival center are both being delayed -- not opening until at least next ski season.

The Viceroy is already seeing some success, even though it doesn't open until November 25: Local deals are increasing bookings, and management reports that the condo hotel has seen bookings in the seven figures. It appears that more luxury ski resort property is available in Aspen.
