Rocky Mountain Golf Profile: Beaver Creek Golf Club

Beaver Creek Golf Club was one of the first Rocky Mountain golf clubs to be incorporated in to a gated ski community

Beaver Creek Golf Club by Golf Vail Valley

Beaver Creek Golf Club was completed in 1984 in conjunction with the opening of Beaver Creek Ski Mountain.  This was one of the first courses in the nation to be built at the bottom of a gated ski community making for an all inclusive private luxury amenity package.

Back in this era, summer time was very much neglected by Vail Valley visitors and you didn't own real estate here unless you were a skier.  After several years of promoting the incredible weather we have in the mountains along with events that Beaver Creek Golf Club sponsored like the Gerald Ford Invitational, golf in the Vail Valley really started to catch on in the late 80's.

Beaver Creek is a shorter 18 hole track that plays 6784 yards from the back tees.  Members, their guests, owners and vacationers who stay in Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead properties have exclusive access to the course from June 15 to September 15 and the public is invited to play during times outside of these mentioned.

Membership to the Beaver Creek Golf Club is offered by becoming a member of what is called, The Beaver Creek Club.  This club entitles members to additional on mountain ski amenities as well as the golf club facilities.  At the peak of the real estate boom in the early 2000's, there was a waiting list for Beaver Creek Club Gold (includes the golf) memberships.  Now you can obtain one by buying a piece of real estate with an attached membership and the club has memberships available from time to time.  Cost to play the course if you are staying in Beaver Creek can be as high as $185 per round.
