Hotel Bookings Down in Colorado

Colorado ski resort towns see biggest drops
Hotel bookings in Colorado have dropped for the first quarter of 2009. Even with good deals, bookings are down. The Denver Business Journal offers this information on Colorado hotel bookings:

Bookings fell throughout the state, and it was most pronounced in the mountain ski towns, said Christine O’Donnell, president of the Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association (CHLA).

Ski resort towns saw some of the biggest drops. Many vacationers are opting for "staycations" to closer locales, so spending the night at a distant ski resort is not as popular. However, as the economy picks up, it is likely that Colorado hotel bookings will pick up.
