| April 14, 2009 | | Is it time for a recovery in ski resort real estate? | In Summit County, it appears that the real estate market might be on the verge of recovery. After seeing the same home declines seen in other luxury real estate markets, the ski resort towns of Summit County are hopeful that things might be turning around soon. Vail Daily reports on what the National Association of Realtors has to say about Colorado and the recovery of the housing market:
Local real-estate agents and builders looking for hopeful signs in a
moribund economy heard Wednesday that Colorado is well-positioned to
lead a recovery in the housing market when consumer confidence returns.
“Colorado
is one of the key growing markets. The long-term outlook is extremely
bright,” said Dr. Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National
Association of Realtors.
It will be interesting in the coming months to see how well ski resort markets begin their recovery. The presence of so many bargains right now is likely to be a motivating factor for buyers, and help stimulate housing market recovery.
