| April 03, 2009 | | Your ski resort real estate needs to look nice in order to sell | One of the most important things you can do when preparing your ski resort home for sale is to declutter. Clutter distracts potential buyers and makes your home look less desirable. Stephanie Fairchild, on the Steamboat Springs real estate blog, points this out about decluttering:
It is also very important to clean and de-clutter! Box up those
knick-knacks, picture frames and as many of your personal items as you
can bear. Buyers will often miss selling features of the property
because they are distracted by the clutter or are busy looking at your
family photos....without realizing it! If you don't have enough space
to neatly store the boxes, rent a small storage facility.
You also want to make sure the outside of your property looks nice. Clean up the yard and make sure your home makes a good first impression -- one that will be strengthened as would-be buyers come in and tour your ski resort home.
