Granby, Colorado is looking to be on the map as a ski resort second home destination. And no wonder: The rugged mountain town is positioned near Winter Park and Grand Lake, and offers access to summer activities -- like golf -- as well.

There is what the New York Times says about Granby, Colorado's desirability as a second home destination:

Now Granby is becoming known as a second-home destination, especially for buyers from the Denver area, about 85 miles or a 90-minute drive away. Within 25 minutes of town are four golf courses, Alpine and Nordic ski
areas, miles of trails in the Arapaho National Forest and the less-crowded western side of Rocky Mountain National Park, and several lakes and rivers, including Lake Granby.

Building a vacation home in some of the new subdivisions in Granby can easy, with real estate developments catering to those who want low maintenance second homes and a range of services.
