| March 04, 2009 | | Tamarack ski area is shutting down the lifts and closing it's base lodge doors four years after opeinging the posh new luxury resort | It's definately a sign of the times. Tamarack has shut down it's lift operations in the middle of the ski season and is closing it's base area doors today due to lack of operational finances. Located in Central Idaho, Tamarack was touted as the first new luxury destination ski resort to open in the United States in 25 years. Credit Suisse Group in pulling the plug on financing the operation after nearly a three million dollar operational loss was reported from October and one of the owners drained a $250 million dollar construction loan. So, I guess the next question is: ANYBODY WANT TO BUY AN UPSCALE SKI AREA? | | |
