| November 26, 2008 | | Four seasons in beautiful Northern Idaho | One of the most beautiful places to live and visit is, without a doubt, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Idaho is famous for being out of the way, and Coeur d'Alene, located in the north of the state, is no exception. But there is great beauty there: a dazzling lake, green pine forests, amazing mountain views. And living there shows you warm, friendly, down-to-earth people.
Skiing at Coeur d'Alene
There are two main ski resorts near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho:
- Schweitzer Mountain Resort, an up-and-coming resort with amzing terrain. Schweitzer overlooks Lake Pend Oreille as well as the picturesque town of nearby Sandpoint.
- Silver Mountain Resort, located 35 minutes away, near Kellogg, ID. This offers some great skiing and snowboarding, as well as numerous other activites.
Coeur d'Alene also offers a great deal of winter entertainment, from holiday shows and events to community activities.
The Coeur d'Alene Resort
This golf and spa resort is beautiful during the winter, with a specatular light display. During the rest of the year, there is plenty to see and do -- including playing golf on the only course in the world with a floating green. Dining, entertainment and shopping are all available at the resort, as well as in other places in town.
Summer activities
Idaho is an outdoor haven for a reason. During the summer, Coeur d'Alene offers hiking, boating, biking, climbing, fishing and any number of outdoor recreation activities. And it's norther location means that the weather is rarely too hot to enjoy the outdoors. The summer months are extremely pleasant in Coeur d'Alene.
Real estate is available in Coeur d'Alene -- some of it quite reasonably priced. Because it its not yet widely acknowledged as a tourist detination, it is still possible to get vacation homes for good prices -- and even to buy land and build your own dream home.
