| November 20, 2008 | | Another great ski resort at Lake Tahoe | One of the areas that sports a great many ski resorts is Lake Tahoe. This area has a number of first-class resort areas, and this includes Squaw Valley ski resort. This resort was the site of the 1960 Olympics, and the Olympic Village is still in existence. From a very simple setup in 1949 to what it is now -- with tubing, skiing and snowboarding trails.
Squaw Valley ski resort is situated in the rugged and beautiful mountains. There are a number of ways to get there -- including by boat and by bus. During the winter, bus is often preferable for those who are unfamiliar with mountain driving.
In addition to great recreation during the winter, it is possible to enjoy summer activities at Squaw Valley. Indeed, the mountain location makes it perfect for hiking, boating, fishing and rafting. There is also climbing available for the extra-adventurous.
Squaw Valley ski resort is its own contained community as well, with dining and entertainment options and shopping. There is lodging and real estate available in a village setting, as well acreage and even estates a little further out.
