Big Sky is located within an easy driving distance of Yellowstone National Park's western entrance in West Yellowstone. This makes Big Sky ski resort an excellent place from which to set out and see some of the wonders of nature, no matter the season. Although, during the summer, Big Sky ski resort includes access to mountain biking, hiking and golf, as well as scenic chairlift rides.

There is an increasing number of options available in terms of real estate at Big Sky ski resort. This is because real estate for sale is a relatively new concept. However, there is a Mountain Village, with homes and condos, and access to dining, shopping, fitness, entertainment, daycare and family activities.
For those who enjoy solitude, there is real estate a little further from the town center, with easy access to snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiing options. It is also possible to find ski-in/ski-out properties.
