Often, New Mexico is thought of only as part of the desert of the Southwest. However, in the northern part of the state, there are mountains that get quite a bit of snow. And skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts know that they can have a great time at Taos Ski Valley.

Taos Ski Valley is located near Taos, New Mexico, a place renowned as an art community. As such, it draws many people each year. However, there is a stable community core of creative and warm people.
Because Taos is a known destination, there is plenty of shopping, recreation, dining, entertainment and special events. Some of the annual hightlights associated with Taos include:

There is plenty of available real estate in the Taos area. Taos offers an ideal location for a lovely mountain cabin, near skiing in the winter and a variety of recreation activities in the summer. Additionally, there are ski-in/ski-out condos available at a variety of establishments, notably Edelweiss Lodge and Spa.
