Utah's premier resort town has much to offer year round

Park City offers great ski resort real estate opportunities

Utah's premier ski resort community has a great deal to offer, no matter the season. Originally founded as a silver mining town in 1869 (the second biggest U.S. silver strike was here), Park City has evolved into a sophisticated, world class resort town visited by thousands every year.

Park City gained additional publicity as it hosted many Winter Olympics events in 2002.

During the winter, of course, Park City offers some of the finest skiing and snowboarding, as well as snowmobile access. There is a winter sports park complete with bobsled/luge run. You can take a turn yourself, or watch world-class athletes train.

Park City is home to three great resorts: The Canyons, Deer Valley and Park City Mountain resort. Additionally, there are smaller opportunities and backcountry access for the adventurous.

The highlight social event of the winter is the Sundance Film Festival, usually held in January. Movie stars come from all over to honor the best in independent film. Additionally, other film festivals, including Slamdance, have sprung up in response to the great success of Sundance, and run concurrently.

Non-winter recreation in Park City

Park City also features a variety of activities during the rest of the year. Mountain biking, hot air ballooning and hiking are all available in Park City. There is some excellent fishing near Park City, and horseback riding opportunities.

Additionally, there are some very fine golf courses, including the Park City Golf Club, which boasts one of the finest finishing holes in Utah. Mountain Dell Golf Course is another public course that is quite fine. There are also a host of private golf clubs as well:

Arts and special events

In addition to the Sundance Film Festival, Park City boasts a number of other art events. There is a jazz festival, art festival and the Food ad Wine Clasic.

Main Street includes a variety of boutiques and specialty shops, as well as some great nightlife.
